We are looking for an experienced and motivated Level II Systems Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring that the hardware and software used by our firm are compatible, secure, and operating effectively and efficiently. To be successful in this position you will demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the industry’s best practices and evidence of a professional track record of effective technical management, information analysis, and a thorough understanding of computer hardware and software systems.
Hours: Monday – Friday (9:00 am – 5:00 pm EST); overtime as needed
Location: Hybrid – work in NFC’s Chatham, NJ office a minimum of three (3) days in-office days per week. In-office days would be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Must be flexible and willing to work in person for additional days as needed for business needs. Must be willing to travel locally, as needed, to assist with certain firm events.
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Essential Functions:
- Maintain essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.
- Liaison with firm-managed IT service provider (Integris), the Chief Administrative Officer, and firm employees.
- Provide basic, routine guidance and training to firm employees on systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve desktop, printer, phone, and application-related problems. Repair and replace equipment as needed.
- Onboard and train new hires, including but not limited to: working remotely, systems, dual authentication set-up, email installation on a cell phone, and set up of new workstations for users (deploying equipment, creating new profile account setups, etc.).
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of IT projects and solutions including researching and evaluating emerging technologies, hardware, and software.
- Track and maintain hardware and software inventory.
- Install and configure hardware and software on workstations.
- Assist in AV setups as needed for meetings.
- Analyze processes, technologies, and vendors continually to find areas for improvement.
- Prepare cost–benefit analyses when upgrades are necessary, and monitor vendors to ensure that they’re offering the best possible service and value for business needs.
Skills Required:
- Minimum of five years of experience in IT administration
- Law firm experience is not required but preferred
- Deep knowledge of operating systems and applications (ex: Outlook 365, Microsoft Teams, document management systems, accounting/ billing software ), current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and systems performance monitoring
- Project management
- Expertise in implementing, configuring, and testing IT solutions
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks often on a time-sensitive basis
- The ability to work collaboratively and positively in a dynamic team environment
- The ability to identify and resolve problems quickly
Salary range (based on full-time): Starting at 75k – 80k
The Firm is providing this good faith salary range to comply with applicable law. The applicant’s final salary will depend on a number of factors including the applicant’s skills and experience.
