SAN DIEGO (January 21, 2026): Employment law firm Nukk-Freeman & Cerra, PC (NFC) is proud to welcome attorneys Moira Heiges-Goepfert and Katherine E. Cervantes to the firm’s growing West Coast office.

Heiges-Goepfert is an accomplished employment and civil rights litigator who advises and represents management in complex, high stakes matters, across federal and state courts, administrative proceedings, and arbitration. Her practice centers on defending class, collective, and impact litigation involving discrimination, wage and hour claims, and worker classification issues, including matters arising under Title VII, the ADA, ADEA, FLSA, and analogous state laws. She has extensive experience handling cases that challenge company-wide policies and practices and regularly manages matters through all phases of litigation, including appeals and amicus briefing. She is admitted to practice in both California and New York. Heiges-Goepfert earned her law degree from the University of Minnesota School of Law and previously earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University.

Cervantes handles complex business and employment disputes and has a strong record of securing significant awards and outcomes for her clients, including a notable appellate victory. She successfully develops and executes smart and effective litigation strategies, and is particularly skilled in drafting pleadings, motion practice, trial preparation, and oral advocacy.  Prior to earning her law degree, she served as a JusticeCorps Fellow for the Superior Court of Los Angeles, where she guided pro se litigants in family law, domestic violence, and guardianship cases. Cervantes earned her law degree from Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law and previously earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
