CHATHAM, NJ – July 31, 2021 Nukk-Freeman & Cerra, PC (NFC), a top-ranked Employment Law Firm representing management, is pleased to welcome both Arooj Siraj and Carol Shieh as Associate Attorneys operating out of the Chatham, New Jersey and San Diego, California offices, respectively.  

Arooj Siraj, Esq., Associate

Ms. Siraj has experience practicing civil defense litigation with an emphasis in labor and employment law.  Areas of focus include discrimination, harassment, hostile work environment, whistleblower and retaliation matters in New Jersey courts and before government agencies.  Additionally she has collaborated with general counsel of various state entities to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.  Ms. Siraj provides counseling on a range of employment issues including internal investigations of public entities and private companies to evaluate various employment-related issues such as mitigation of risks, liability concerns and workplace accommodations. Before entering the private practice, Ms. Siraj served a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Katherine R. Dupuis, Presiding Chancery Judge of the New Jersey Superior Court’s Union Vicinage. Ms. Siraj, bilingual in English and Urdu, received her J.D. from Widener University Delaware School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University.

Carol Shieh, Esq., Associate

Ms. Shieh’s practice focuses on the defense of management in employment-related disputes. Prior to joining NFC, Ms. Shieh worked for a prominent San Diego-based firm as an Associate Attorney responsible for defending employers in all stages of litigation, as well as providing counsel regarding compliance with employment and labor laws.  Ms. Shieh defends single and multiple-plaintiff litigation on behalf of employers in harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wage and hour (including PAGA and class action) disputes. In addition, Ms. Shieh regularly counsels employers on a wide range of workplace issues under federal, state, and local laws.  Ms. Shieh received her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law and her undergraduate degree from the University of California San Diego.
