Julie S. Alarcón focuses her practice on the defense of management in employment-related disputes. As a member of NFC’s counseling practice group, Julie counsels employers of all sizes on issues involving employee recruitment, hiring, employee classifications, family and medical leave, antidiscrimination, sexual harassment, disability, wage and hour, discipline, employment and severance agreements, whistleblower laws, and other employment related matters. Julie’s litigation experience extends to a wide range of cases, including employment discrimination, harassment, wrongful discharge, whistle-blower/retaliation, employment contract disputes, wage & hour, and other employment disputes. Julie also conducts a variety of employment law trainings concerning harassment discrimination and retaliation prevention, performance management, wage & hour compliance, and other human resources topics.
Prior to entering the private sector, she interned for the Legal Aid Society, UC Hastings Community Justice Clinics, ACLU Immigrant Rights’ Project, and worked at the National Labor Relations Board. Julie received her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
