You are not alone! The landscape of what benefits may be available to employees in COVID related situations is constantly changing, especially in light of the federal Families First Coronavirus Response Act (effective today) and enhanced unemployment benefits enumerated in the recent federal Relief for Workers Affected by Coronavirus Act.

To assist employers and employees, the New Jersey Department of Labor has now issued updated printable guides outlining COVID-19 related benefits and scenarios for NJ employees.

These guides answer many employer questions on the interplay between the new federal laws and already existing state programs (such as New Jersey Family Leave Insurance), including the sequencing of benefits, and we strongly recommend that employers in New Jersey review them:
