This position is responsible for providing litigation, support to NFC’s attorneys. NFC expects that this position will be held by a highly motivated individual who excels in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment that values top-quality work and positive contributions to the workplace.
Hours: Monday – Friday (8:30 am – 5:00 pm); limited overtime as needed

Reports to: Director of Litigation Support Services
Location: Hybrid – work in NFC’s San Diego Office a minimum of two (2) days in-office days per week, during onboarding and training there will be a three (3) day in-office per week requirement. Must be flexible and willing to work in person for additional days as needed for coverage and/or other business needs.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and maintain detailed case chronologies and fact summaries.
- Draft and respond to written discovery (Interrogatories, Requests for Production, Requests for Admission).
- Prepare and serve subpoenas.
- Coordinate document collection, review, redaction, Bates stamping, and production.
- Prepare and maintain privilege logs and document indexes.
- Manage litigation databases.
- Electronic discovery litigation support, including ESI document collection and storage/maintenance; perform data searches; and review, tag, redact, and prepare electronic documents for production.
- Assist with locating and contacting witnesses; coordinate, prepare for, and participate in witness interviews; draft witness statements and declarations; coordinate and assist with preparation of witness testimony.
- Prepare deposition exhibits, summaries, and witness files.
- Gather and organize supporting documentation for motions and court filings.
- Prepare mediation briefs, binders, and documentation.
- Compile and manage trial exhibits, trial binders, and provide on-site trial support.
- Conduct legal and factual research using Westlaw and public record databases.
- Coordinate with clients, experts, vendors, and internal team members.
- Provide direction to Litigation Assistants and support team workflow efficiency.
- Track billable time accurately and maintain confidentiality standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including any legal or administrative support.
Skills Required:
- At least 5 years of Paralegal experience
- Strong understanding of law firm procedures and requirements
- Strong understanding of relevant court rules and legal proceedings
- Excellent writing, grammar and proofreading skills
- E-discovery experience (including Relativity, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to think proactively, multi-task and plan
- Highly organized
- Strong research skills (including Westlaw, internet, etc.)
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
Salary Range: $80k – 100k
The Firm is providing this good-faith salary range to comply with applicable law. The applicant’s final salary will depend on a number of factors, including the applicant’s skills and years of experience.
Performance and Hours-Based Bonuses: This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary performance-based bonus (percentage of salary).
