Martha Klak, ESQ.

Associate

Martha Klak is a skilled attorney with experience handling complex legal matters across multiple areas of law. With a strong background in evaluating legal issues, preparing key legal documents, and advocating on behalf of clients, Martha has successfully navigated a broad spectrum of legal challenges. She has expertise in preparing demand letters, complaints, answers to complaints, motions, serving and responding to discovery, and mediation briefs for various types of legal matters.

Martha now focuses on labor and employment law, including cases involving discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, and wage and hour claims. Specifically, she specializes in defending employers in complex wage-and-hour class actions and representative claims under California’s Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA). With a practical, solutions-oriented approach, Martha partners closely with her clients to assess potential violations, prepare detailed exposure analyses, and develop effective defense strategies. She advises employers from the earliest stages of a dispute through resolution, navigating pre-suit investigations, litigation, mediation, and settlement with an emphasis on practical results and minimizing exposure.

Martha received her Juris Doctor with concentrations in Civil Litigation and Business and Corporate Law, from University of San Diego School of Law and her undergraduate degree from San Diego State University. During her time in law school, Martha was a member of the Women’s Law Caucus and Chair of the Pro Bono Legal Advocates, the Conservatorship Clinic, and the Homeowners Clinic. She currently volunteers at Crawford High School’s Academy of Law where she mentors students to ensure they are on track for graduation, plan for college, and gain insight into the legal profession as a viable career option.
