Ben Jakovljevic has experience practicing employment law and business litigation across a variety of areas, including counseling employers on employment law best practices, the development and updating of employee handbooks, engagement of early-stage dispute resolution and all other matters pertaining to employee relations. When litigation is necessary, Mr. Jakovljevic defends employers of all sizes in all aspects of employment law claims such as wage and hour class actions, trade secrets litigation, discrimination, harassment, hostile work environment, and whistleblower and retaliation matters. Before entering private practice, Mr. Jakovljevic served as a Superior Court Judicial extern and an intern for the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory General Counsel’s Office, in addition to acting as the Submissions Editor for the Southern California Interdisciplinary Law Journal. Mr. Jakovljevic received his J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law and his undergraduate degree from University of California Irvine.

Julie S. Alarcón joins NFC as an Associate, where she focuses her practice on the defense of management in employment-related disputes. Managing all aspects of discovery including written and electronic, document production, depositions and motion practice, Ms. Alarcón counsels employers of all sizes on issues involving employee recruitment, hiring, family and medical leave, employee classifications, discipline, employment and severance agreements, antidiscrimination, disability and whistleblower laws and other employment related matters. A member of NFC’s litigation practice group, Ms. Alarcón represents clients in state and federal court litigation on matters including discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, wage and hour violations and other related laws, handling cases from day one through judgment. Prior to entering the private sector, Ms. Alarcón interned for the Legal Aid Society, UC Hastings Community Justice Clinics and worked at the National Labor Relations Board. Ms. Alarcón received her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
