A Statement in Support of Black Lives Matter

By:
These past few weeks, we have watched in horror the heartbreaking murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery. These atrocities are painful reminders of the systemic racial injustice that still exists in our country, and we stand in solidarity with the national outcry demanding immediate justice and reform in their wake.
Nukk-Freeman & Cerra is proud to have a team comprised of individuals from different races, ethnicities, backgrounds, and experiences – and we are committed to speaking out against the brutality and injustices being perpetuated against members of the Black community. Today and every day, we stand in solidarity with our Black employees, clients, and colleagues: We see you; we hear you; and we are with you.
We realize that this is a time of great sadness, anxiety, and suffering for so many people, and we know that our nation is hurting. We must reflect on how we can actively support and facilitate a constructive dialogue on these issues within our own workplaces, families, and communities – so that we can move forward together to create meaningful change.
We understand that action must be at the center of how we move forward. Healing our country requires truly equal justice for all, and we must speak out and demand reform. We are proud of the members of our own team who are attending marches, making donations, signing petitions, and making their voices heard.  NFC – as a firm, a family, and a community member – will be devoting financial resources and other support to organizations focused on combating racial injustice, including: Black Lives Matter, The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Volunteer Lawyers for Justice, and The Equal Justice Initiative. This is in addition to our continued involvement with other inclusive organizations.
Real change will require a bold, consistent, and concerted effort by all of us. As we look forward, we commit to being part of the solution.
In solidarity,
Nukk-Freeman & Cerra, P.C.
